Early Years Lead / Nursery Teacher

Kathryn Curr
With 17 years of teaching experience exclusively within Thomas Walling, Kathryn has always gravitated towards early years education. Starting as a nursery nurse and later transitioning into teaching, Kathryn has always had a passion for nurturing young minds. She finds great satisfaction in supporting children facing challenges, knowing she can positively impact their lives. Beyond the classroom, Kathryn enjoys quality time with her two daughters and their retired greyhound, often taking leisurely walks along the beach.
"Working with children from disadvantaged social backgrounds and making a positive impact on their lives is incredibly rewarding. I'm grateful to be part of their journey."

Anna Scott
After seven years at Thomas Walling and a total of eight years in teaching, Anna brings a toolbox of experience to her role. Anna holds a BA Hons in Early Primary Education from Northumbria University, specialising in early years teaching. Her genuine love for working with children shines through in her dedication to watching them flourish and grow. Outside of school, Anna enjoys spending time with her two children. In her spare moments, she indulges in reading and family walks.

Beth Currie
With four years of experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Beth joined Thomas Walling seven years ago and has worked across a range of roles, including SEN access, Reception and now Nursery. Passionate about supporting young learners, Beth brings a wealth of expertise in early childhood education and inclusive practice.

Teaching Assistant

Alison Melvin
With six and a half years of dedicated service, Alison plays a vital role in our nursery team. Holding an Early Years Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification, she takes pride in witnessing the progression of children from their first day until they transition to reception. Alison's passion for working with children stems from her role as a Mother of three and Grandmother of one. It was after having her own children that she decided to pursue a career in childcare.

Tracy Thompson
With over 20 years of experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children from birth to five years old, Tracy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. A qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant, she joined Thomas Walling in early 2025 and is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging environment where every child can thrive.

Apprentice

Erin Houghton
Erin is beginning her career in early years education as an apprentice at Thomas Walling. She is passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development and is excited to gain hands-on experience while working towards her qualifications.
