Ethos & Values
At the heart of our school are our children and their learning.
“Leaders expect pupils to work hard and be respectful. Pupils rise to that challenge.” Ofsted 2021
Thomas Walling Primary Academy is part of the Laidlaw Schools Trust. We are an inclusive school, committed to developing the full academic, spiritual, social and individual potential of each child within our ‘Family of Learners’.
We aim to foster good relationships between children, staff, parents and the wider community and are committed to protecting and safeguarding the welfare of every child.
We aim to create a school community with:
- successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve
- confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives
- responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society
Thomas Walling Academy is a diverse and welcoming place that promotes personal values as well as the British values of:
- democracy
- the rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith
We promote these values during assemblies and in our PSHE teaching.
Our Values
Shared by our pupils and staff alike.
